What Are The Reasons For The Fading Of Plastic Bottles?

The fading of plastic bottles is related to the light resistance, heat resistance, acid and alkali resistance, oxygen resistance and the properties of the used resin. In the production of masterbatch, the above properties of the required pigments, surfactants, dispersants, dyes, carrier resins and anti-aging additives are evaluated comprehensively before they can be selected.

The reasons for fading of plastic bottle products are as follows:
Heat resistance: The thermal stability of pigments refers to the degree of thermal weightlessness, discoloration and fading of pigments at processing temperature; the pigments of organic compounds will undergo changes in molecular structure and a small amount of decomposition at a certain temperature; the components of inorganic pigments are metal oxides and salts, which have good thermal stability and high heat resistance; in fact, we need high temperature heating in the production process. Plastic products need to choose more heat-resistant pigments to ensure color discoloration, fading, and the overall appearance of the product.

Acid and alkali resistance: The fading of colored plastic bottle products is related to the chemical resistance of colorants, such as molybdenum chrome red, dilute acid resistance, but sensitive to alkali, cadmium yellow, acid resistance. These two pigments and phenolic resins have strong reducing effect on some colorants, seriously affecting the heat resistance, weather resistance and fading of colorants.

Light-resistance: The light-resistance of colorants directly affects the fading of products, and the light-resistance grade is poor. The products will quickly fade outdoor products exposed to strong light in use. The light-resistance grade requirement of the colorants used is an important index.

Antioxidant property: Some organic pigments are degraded by macromolecule or faded by other changes after oxidation. This process includes high temperature oxidation during processing and oxidation by strong oxidant. After the combination of chrome yellow and color lake, azo pigments, the red color decreases gradually.
